1
Prayer started in your name
The puja is started in your name and family name (gotra), so the prayer is done only for you — for Maa Durga's power, protection and victory.
2
First we pray to Ganesh ji
We first pray to Ganesh ji to clear all troubles, and set up the holy kalash so the puja begins the right way.
3
Maa Durga is welcomed and worshipped
Maa Durga is called and worshipped with flowers, lamp (deep), dhoop and other simple offerings, just as our shastras teach.
5
Holy mantra chanting
The holy Durga mantra and Navarna mantra is chanted many times to put full power into your prayer.
6
Havan and final offering
A havan (sacred fire) is done and the last offering (purnahuti) is given to complete the puja and bless your wish.
