Why Is Haridwar Sacred for Pitru Puja?
Haridwar is where the Ganga leaves the mountains and meets the plains for the first time. Tradition calls it Hari Ka Dwar, the doorway to the divine, and a stone at Har Ki Pauri is believed to carry Lord Vishnu's footprint.

What Is the Mythological Significance of Haridwar?
